Intro to

House of Fanis Pittalis

Both the family house of Mpei and the house of Antoni stand as living testaments to their lives, struggles, and wisdom. Stone by stone, they hold the stories of hardship and hope. Similarly and symbolically, the project “House of Fanis Pittalis” is my commitment to create and leave behind my own testament, a testament rooted in the struggles of our people, while also pushing the boundaries of modern enology in Cyprus.

Commitment

A Decade of Discovery

This is a ten-year commitment where every year will generate new wines, taking new winemaking approaches, creating distinct labels through an uncompromising quest to refine and redefine. Some labels will build upon the lessons of the past, fine-tuning the balance between nature and technique. Others will be bold departures, challenging convention in pursuit of something greater. Every label will be registered here, on this section of the website, creating a digital journal of this journey.

This decade-long pursuit won’t only be remembered by the bottles of wine produced, but the Pittali family’s pride, heritage, and ingenuity poured into every drop.

Year 1 of 10 - 2024

The 2024 harvest was unique not only for marking the start of this Project and the unusual weather conditions, but also due to our exceptional team. We welcomed two colleagues and friends of Fanis Pittalis from Italy: Simone Busnardo and Edoardo Bono. Their creativity and meraki brought the energy and problem-solving spirit this vintage needed.

The season began with light spring rains and healthy vines, but low winter rainfall led to reduced fertility and lower yields. Early-summer heat waves and pre-harvest rains disrupted ripening and delayed maturity. Despite challenges, the team adapted quickly, turning adversity into opportunity.
